    Hi fellow reefers!
I have a 135 gal glass aquarium (24" deep) that I have painfully converted to reef and I am all ready except lighting. I saw an Ebay ad for a 785w -3 175w MH & 2 130 CF with moonlights for $459. (Ebay Item # 7770018279) I am new to reef and am only staring with softies and two anemones.

Is this a good brand? Anyone used this brand have any comments?

    Additional tank setup details:
Rio 3100 pump, ASM 1QX skimmer, 20 gal sump, 20 gal refug, 100 lbs live sand, 100 lbs live rock, RO water only, 2 150w heaters, two power heads.

    Thanks for responses;D

Some have used them without problems, while others stand by thier belief that they are the worst company on earth.

IMO I'd go for a DIY MH kit. You can get a very nice 250w MH for $150 x2 thats $300 for 500w.

No experience with the halides, but I'd wait a few months for the tank to get well established before introducing any anemone's. They're usually very dependant on water quality, and not for a new set up.

    Thanks for the comments!
I have an established 55 gallons tank with all the coral & anemones until I am ready for the big tank. I have run the big tank for two weeks and will wait at least another month before I move livestock into it.

Hmm interesting. I have seen other brands for $750-850 for same setup and I was thinking there must be a reason. For money like that I want to be sure I get the best product.
The DIY kits I have looked at and after pricing they are only marginally cheaper by the time you get reflector, hood, and fans. I am still looking and as always the research helps me find the best product for my money!!

The DIY kits come with reflectors. Everything you need with the light is $150.

I had a 30" Odyessea PC fixture. Worked ok, sometimes one of the lights wouldn't go on and I'd have to fiddle the switch. The fans were kinda loud too, but they adjusted with the heat.

    Overall, it was ok.

Critifer, I have an Odyssea 2x96W 36in PC fixture. It has been doing just fine for me for the past couple months I've owned it. My corals are gowing really well. My ONLY complaint is that for some reason it is sort of loud. I don't know if it's the fans...I think a ballast came loose during shipping or something. But it's not unbearable, and it's only when the lights are on so when it's sleep time it's not a big deal. I literally fill a small bowl with water, put it on top if the fixture in the sweet spot, and the buzzing sound gets quieter. For my smaller budget it is perfectly fine. Hope that helps.

    Thanks guys,
So far the responses for this brand haven't been too negative. I also have a 36" 65w pc that I use for refug and I haven't had any problems. I am still comparing the DIY kits to see which is the better value, will keep you posted on what I decide.

there is reports of fires from this brand i would not buy this or anything from this company one thing in reefing that is hard to do is understand "what you buy is what you get" trust me spend as much as you can and you ill enjoy it for many more years compared to just one or two years and having to spend that amount and more for what you could have bought in the first place.
