I'm planning on upgrading my 55 reef from 260W of PC to 324W of T5HO in about a month(saving up right now). Does anyone have 6x54 over their tanks? And if you do, or know someone that does, what all can be kept there? I'm pretty confident that I can grow SPS with these lights. Here's a link to what I plan on getting by the way:

    48'' Aquarium Light T5 HO 6 x 54 NEW Moon Lunar Reef - eBay (item 120247214330 end time Apr-24-08 13:27:54 PDT)

I would like to keep a clam, and don't mind putting it halfway up if need be, but if the lights won't support it then I can live without.

Before anyone mentions them, I do not want MH. To much wattage and way to much heat for me. I mostly want zoas (but with enough light so that they look awesome), other softies, LPS, and a few SPS. Basically just want a look at other tanks that have these lights, so if you can post pics or links then that would be really appreciated. I don't mind hearing about personal experience with these lights either.:) Thanks all.;D

T5 can technically keep anything alive. I've seen clams, SPS, LPS and softies under them, they do a great job but personally I'd run 6x39 instead of 6x54 on a 55g may be a little to much lighting

How's that light for a 72? I've been looking at the same one.

72 bow I would think it'd work great cause of the extra depth but you really may want to look at MH with vho/t5 acintics instead

Do you guys really think 6*54 watt would be too much? The bulbs don't have the individual reflectors on them. I don't want to order a 4*54 watt and then wish I'd gotten more bulbs.

    Thanks Tangster.

Do you guys really think that 6 bulbs would be to much for a 55? Would it cause acros to bleach? I'm wondering if I should order 4 bulbs, but I don't want to wish that I had gotten more later on.

I'd save..spend more money and get a Tek fixture instead.I had the exact fixture, from the same company a year ago.I had them on a 75 gallon, and it was ok.I upgraded to a tek,all the difference in the world, nite a day.I have to have leathers, shrooms, yumas, etc at the bottom. Can even keep sps half way down.

I personally like the Sundial. It is made by current and comes with 4 bulbs, 4 moon lights, fans and intergrated timers! Only ONE cord. It runs a little over 300 for the 48" but it has individual reflectors. Works for me :) Hope this helps.
