Anyone have a Large Conch Shell in their tank?

I Was thinking about getting A large conch Shell and putting it in my tank just as a decoration? Anyone have one in their tank?

 

I don't, but that sounds like a cool addition. Make sure your hermits don't grow into it!!

 

yea i got one in my tank from when the previous owner (friend of mine) had a conch that died eventually and I got the shell in my tank still....i figure it is good decor as well as it would be a beneficial place for some pods to breed hopefully

 

I have a random assortment of shells in my tank.. no worries, go for it..

 

Why not get a small conch for your tank and have something to talk about? I would not have a dead shell in that tank to say look at that shell. I bought a shell in jamaca for 15 bucks want it to add to your tank?

 

if you like the look of it, go for it.

if you are thinking one of the big ones, just keep in mind that shells deteriorate once there is no snail rebuilding them. Eventually, the shell will fail.

so just dont have it supporting any weight or anything as it could eventually collapse.

 

I used to have have one in my 125 and the fish made good use of it. It went to Bluemoon Reefers with some other base rock that I was no longer using. I'm not sure if they have it in the tank now or not.

I have one but its buried undersome sand.
