I have one and this fish has a ton of character! Mine's name is Anna and she makes me smile every time I approach my tank. She is always the first to greet me with a great big grin!!!! ;D To anyone that has not seen the Porcupine Puffer bulge out into what looks like Hellraiser with all the spikes sticking out in every direction in a great big ball......We'll youv'e just gotta see it for yourself.....WAY COOL!!! IMO....

    fantastic fish surferdude IMO

they have lots of personality and are very inquisitive - many fish will learn to come to take food from fingers etc , but I had one many years back that definitely became a pet rather than just a fish in a tank , a very interactive fish

    Steve,
I am very attached to my puffer. I was told that this is a junk fish, and if it is then I'm a junk fish lover. Anna eats right out of my fingers and never leaves my sight while I'm in the room. If I rub her on her back in just the right spot she'll blow up into her Transformer state. I must say that I am more attached to this fish than any other in my tank. She's 2 years old and counting. :cheesy:

If I were to get a Porcupine Puffer would he eat my Fire Shrimp? That has been the only thing keeping me away from one...and them eating my hermits.

I use to have one. He was a real character after he settled in.

I figured as much...that's why I never got one. But was hoping for a slight miracle.

I have one and it to has a lot of character, by far one of my favorites. Mine blew up once when I put a net in the water, I guess he didn't like it. I have seen somewhere that its not good to make them blow up?

That is correct. You do not want them to blow up. However, they will blow up sometimes just because they can.
