I've used their carbon and GFO, granular and pellitized. Their GFO can't be beat for price and quality IMO and IMO, carbon is carbon, I've used theirs and a few other brands and have never really noticed a difference. I generally get whatever is cheaper. Bulkreefsupply.com can really save you money though, you may have to put up more money up front, but it does save you in the long run, especially with their Ca, Alk and Mg supplements.

I guess I should correct, just carbon is the same to me, no matter what brand, but Chemi pure is more then just carbon as well as Chemi pure elite. But I don't know if you can use them in a reactor as they come in a presized bag.

do you use pellet/granular? How often do you change it? What are you using as a water supply pump?

Thanks for letting me pick your brain ;D

No problem! I enjoy helping. :)

I use the GFO pellets and the ROX activated carbon. I change the carbon every 2-4 weeks and the GFO every 4 weeks (the website recs every 4-8 weeks). For the pump, I use a Maxi Jet 1200 that I bought from their website.

you have 2 separate reactors. one with GFO and a maxijet 1200? and another with Carbon and a maxijet 1200? This is what I was planning on running.

Nope, I have the dual reactor, so it holds both GFO and carbon.

Definitely. I bought it because it's the pump BRS suggests for use with my reactor, and it definitely is strong enough.

All I use is thier brand. I use the pellets and the standard carbon.
