It is not a long term thing though. Just to help them eat, plus its kinda neat seeing the mollies survive in the reef I had one last over 2 weeks swimming around before the lion made a meal of it. The damsels didnt know what to make of him.

I had a dwarf lion in my last reef, he and a lawn mower blenny were the best of buds, wherever one was the other was right beside. This went on for a couple of years until the blenny miscalculated his landing and impaled himself on the lions dorsal. The next couple of minutes weren't good to watch.
I got the lion onto thawed prawn (shrimp) pretty quickly by threading a piece onto cotton and jiggling it near the lion. When it ate the prawn I just pulled the cotton out. Worked a treat.

well if you do get one i suggest going over to lionfishlair.com they have alot of tips for weaning it off live food to frozen, how to care for them and what not. not saying you wont get the same info here its just more readily accessible and they specialize in all preds.

I'd take a look at both of these articles, as they should answer most of your questions:

Lions, and Turkeys, and Devils, Oh My! Lionfish in the Home Aquarium

Tools of the Trade: Equipment & Techniques to Convert your Fish onto Frozen

I strongly recommend making yourself a "stealth stick" as described in the "tools of the trade" article. It is absolutely the best delivery method we've found for fishes of all sizes.

Other things to consider are food item size...lionfishes prefer smaller items to larger pieces, and they also digest much better. Try to keep the food about the size of the fish's eye, and feed 4-6 pieces of food 3x a week once you get the fish feeding for you.
