er maybe a coral life skimmer

    HI,
The coral life skimmer is about the cheapest one you can get that actually skims pretty well it does need occasional maint to work, good weekly cleaning and the usual calcium removal monthly .
I have 2 and in this case the 220 is twice the skimmer as the smaller models for the buck
Remora makes a good one too.

Stay away from the sea clone skimmer. Its junk and you will find yourself buying another skimmer. If you want to buy a decent low cost skimmer then go with the needle wheel coralife super skimmer. Buy the 125 vs the 65 skimmer if you decide to go this route.

I am stuck using the Seaclone 100 due to space, but IMO, mines works just fine. This is my first ever skimmer, and I haven't had problems using or figuring it out. I'm using it in my sump. I'm not sure I would recommend it for HOT because mine seems to discharge too many micro bubbles unless you like that look in your display tank. I clean up about 1/4 cup wet skim weekly from a lighly stocked tank. Lets just say it was worth the $60 I paid for it..

The seaclone and prizm skimmers are considered by most - the worst skimmers. Innefficient, alot of fiddling to get the skimmers to work. Personally I know too many reefers that have wasted there money on the cheaper skimmers to have them sitting collecting dust. The best skimmers that are in reasonable prices are the aqua c remora and the coralife super skimmers.

actually i've had the same prizm skimmer for 6yrs now.i had to adjust it every day until i added a sump full of chaeto.i think the sump stabilized my tank or something so that i only have to adjust the skimmer once a month and it skims great.its also a bit load but not as loud as my overflow.i had to replace its injection air hose 6 months ago cause the hose shrank and i added a extra valve so i can empty the cup without shutting the skimmer off.when it dies someday i'll get a sump skimmer unless i see a prism reelly cheap.my tanks a 55 gallon reef ready with a 29 gallon sump.
