save up and buy a Reef Angel...its the best investment ive made for my tank...it does EVERYTHING you want it to ;D

i control four pwm ballasts with mine and its incredible, not to mention everything else it does.

If you dont own a reef controller and you really want to get the best out of your tank id really suggest the reef angel. I used to use two Rapid controllers and in the end wasnt satisfied, almost bought the boost unit but didnt like how "exposed" it was. decided my money was best spent in an all in one unit. Just my thoughts

Ah. Perhaps this is different in the newer versions... In my old emails back and forth with mike it was my understanding this was not possible on the 1st version of this. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey thanks for pointing that out! I'm gonna get divorced for sure now. HAHA. The price isn't that bad for what it does straight out of the box! Gonna do it. Maybe. Probably on Friday. Possibly.

So yeah, after emailing Roberto back and forth (that dude is ON TOP of customer service!) The reef angel is how I'm going to go. I'd never really paid attention to them, thought they would be out of my price range. After looking I see that the basic will do what I need for now right out of the box for less than $250 and next month I can expand to wifi and control my MP40 with it. Geez and this project wasn't supposed to top the $500 dollar mark.

    wifi and rf module expansion**

After 4 days of reading about the Reef Angel I've decided against it and ordered a BoostLED Typhoon instead.

I'm sure the RA is a great piece of equipment for those that are not techno-challenged such as I am. I don't have the patience to learn how to write code and just so I can get the functions I want. Not only that a friend wrote a good piece on them for reefs.com and after chatting w/ him I found out the instructions are extremely vague.

So since I had moved over $200 around behind the scenes I just decided to add another 24 LED's to my build for a total of 72.

Nice trade off.;) Don't forget to buy a control box for it, as it is highly exposed. I had to drop like $1.50 at big lots for mine. And yes it does look like i only spent $1.50 on it, but it works and i don't care.

I'd say pm me if ya need help, but ya won't, super easy.

Congrats on them getting back in stock.

Thanks for everything. What's the community like? Is there even an active one?

They aren't in stock yet. I just paid for it and the USB cable so when they do come back in John will just ship it.

That's one cool dude. He even invoiced me PayPal so I didn't have to make the purchase visible by using my card.

No clue on the community, I'm happy as it came stock, sorry!

Yeah that guy rocks, i feel bad not buying led's from him! When i got that debacle from reefwerks, he spent an HOUR on the phone with me trying to problem solve them, even though I hadn't spent 1 dime with him! An HOUR, not even trying to sell me anything, just getting a competitors lights up and running, which we couldn't due to missing parts! Had a small question the other day, emailed him, and my phone rang 20 minutes later! INSANE customer service!
