What are you growing under it, and in what size tank? I have one on the way, and I'm wondering what to expect.

I have - er, HAD - a Tek 8x54 on my 75 gallon, but that's apples to oranges.

It's going over a standard 29 gallon (30L x 12W x 18H). However, I have constructed an overflow at one end which takes up 4". So the usable floor space is about 12 x 26 inches, with an actual depth to the sand bed of 16.5".

I say apples to oranges because this setup will have a different number of bulbs, with different wattages, over a different tank depth, and so on, which makes a direct comparison difficult (for me anyway). :)

    What are your thoughts??

My brother had a 4 bulb CurrentUSA fixture (SunDial) over his 29 and grew SPS (birds nest, monti caps...) and lots of LPS and softies. The Tek fixture has individual reflectors, so it has a leg up on the SunDial. You should be able to grow some good stuff with that fixture.
