Just curious, I start training in 4 weeks. I train martial arts now but wanna step it up to something a little more painful  MMA is pretty popular here in Central Oregon and I have an opportunity to train at a pretty good fight club that has put out a couple of pros..... I currently train a form of Aikido 8)

I'm a big fan of MMA and am going to be joining a club/training group soon. I'm currently hitting the gym working up to it, the center is opening up in a few months so I'm bulking up a bit before going. Pretty excited about it all

sweet. What gym? I roll with a bunch of friends that train here but I still belong to traditional clubs. Aikido is fun but wrist locks might be hard with all that tape.

Aikido is good for self defense against the average person. There's no comparison to mma training for anyone but someone else trained in mma. I will be training with JT(outlaw) Taylor and the Desert Dogs here in Bend, OR

Thats even more of a reason to join. Find a good club with no egos and they will help get you in shape while you learn technique.

I grew up with Jamie Yager (on the last Ultimate Fighter). He stayed the same size, I got bigger. I currently train at my local pub afterhours...mostly against loudmouths and such. I consider myself a "Brazilian bar-brawler." ;D

    Hey

I have been training for the past year or so.

My original gym was Miletich and consisted of Sambo BJJ Muay Thai Judo (for throws) and wrestling (for take downs)

It is a lot of fun, and will get your ass in shape fast.
