    its 78.5 degrees. and he just did a gill scrape and looked at it under microscope.

    I'm not even sure why I said stain, I meant culture.

    The information from the LFS is basically useless.
    - it may have been an incidental finding. This often happens with vibrio.

    - the scraping under a microscope doesn't tell us a whole lot. It tells us shape, size, movement, those sort of things. But you can't diagnose it by a microscope. The fact that he is, shows me he has no business looking through a microscope and offering advice.

    Side note: Kanamycin is absolutely not the drug of choice for a vibriosis, Furan-2 is. There are some others as well if I can find my book.

    Oxytetracycline, potentiated sulfonamides, and oxolinic acid.

    Not that I recommend treatment at this time.....
