Folks, that's just "frustration-speak". Nothing else. I'm sure everyone of you has been there before.

Not a single person, including the original poster, wants this fish to be dead.

Kevin, give my idea a shot, Its easier then you think. Tangs have a tendancy to ... swim alot even at night, and with the lights just full blown at them out of no where.. It gives you a good 2 minute window to catch them.

he tends to go into a cove that I have in my tank as soon as the lights go out, and i dont ever see him out after that until the next morning

Thats odd, My purple and Achilles are constantly on the prowl at night. Very graceful in moonlighting.

The only other thing I can think of and it was pretty easy for one of our fishes who was a bit larger, We took chunks of ceiling grating and blocked off the caves and hiding spots.

I literally just got the fish I hated out last week. Tried everything and never got her. Finally, I went and got some tiny fishing hooks. Without exaggeration, it took 2 seconds and I had her on the hook. Put her in my fuge and traded her in at my lfs yesterday. Just put the food thy fish likes the most on a hook and go fishing!!!

agreed on the fishing. Iv see his tank and can safly say that he would have to go diving to get him out with a net...... besides you can buy a bream hook from walmart with the line and fish all day for about 2.00 tops as removing the rock might take FOREVER in his BEAST LOL. good luck ;D
