That sounds exactly like what I am thinking! I will look into this.

Yeah... I dunno... this definitely works... I just want something specific I guess..

I have that. I quit using it because the turkey baster bulb thing is a pain. I end up getting food everywhere I don't mean to.

The turkey basters have the same problem plus they're fat. I've got a 55, so it's too narrow for a baster.

The seasquirt fits really great, I just hate the bulb.

    phat P karma coming out.

i used to have something like this i made it from a syringe from a farm supply store, and tubing and a plastic window blind rod from lowes. i used plastic zip ties every 4-5 inches to keep tube straight. worked fine and cheap too;D

I use a piece of rigid plastic tubing attached to a test kit syringe with a little bit of airline tubing. Works great and disassembles easy for cleaning etc. Just make sure the rigid tubing fits in the airline tubing.

I've not used one of these before (probably obvious). The wheel is what controls the dispensing right? Does the wheel also control sucking up the solution - scroll one way to suck and the other to blow (for lack of better words)

    This seems really useful.

On the syringe w/the airline tubing ideas, a problem I have with them (and I do not understand why this happens) is when I put the tube in the water the water pressure forces it up the tube several inches. I would think with the syringe not moving (maybe it is and I just can't see it?) the water pressure wouldn't be strong enough to force the solution back up the tube...

Wondering if I'll have same problem with this device or if it can withstand that...

I do have one of these made (used it last night). It works for sure, just feels very jerry rigged to me and less precise than maybe it ought to be.

    Thanks for the help all.

Pretty much. You can use the wheel to suck up food or dispense it. As well as a tab on the top you can pull up to suck up the food as well. Think of the large pull tab major increments and wheel minor incriments. However, you can use the wheel to fill it all the way up as well. The tab is just faster. I use these all the time in the lab.

I use a long lexan/plexi (whatever you wanna call it, it's acrylic) tube + a 10cc cath tip syringe. Home depot is supposed to have the tubes.
