    I'm seeing everything from 4" x 7.5", to 7.75" x 10".

    Thanks!

When Jwin gets home, I'll get him to pull it out and measure it - he likes digging around in the sump. ;)

    Thanks!

I basically just need to know if it'll sit sideways in a 10 gallon sump. ;)

Daaang. The 10 gallon is 9 3/4" inside.

Other than that, how do you like it??

Hmmm...I would actually say ours is about 8" long. It fits with about an inch to spare in a 9.5 inch wide sump. Not including the pipe that sticks out the side that returns water, the pump and cylinder are about 4 inches wide. The piping sits about 3 inches off the bottom, but if you include that in it's about 7 inches. So the actual "footprint" IMO is 8" by 4". The actual space needed is about 8" x 7", but you can tweak things around where that's not really a big factor. And I can supply photographic proof of our skimmer fitting sideways in a 9.5 inch sump if needed ;)

NOTE: Ours is the non recirculating skimmer. The more expensive recirculating version of the 110 might have a larger footprint, I'm not sure. I doubt it would though, but that's something to consider.

How do you like it? Does it pull a think skimmate or a liquidy one? What does the water level have to be in the sump for it to function properly? photos please

Thanks Jwin! That tells me what I need to know; no photographic proof needed! It's gonna be close, but it sounds like a go.

    I have 9 3/4" x 7 1/2", and not a micron more!;D

Everybody seems to like this skimmer; do you have any reservations about it at all?

EDIT: Just in case anyone follows behind me with the same question ... I got my skimmer, and the answer is yes, it will fit sideways in a ten gallon.

But you will have to trim about 1/2" or so off the end of the acrylic base.
