I got a deal today picked up this, which also has pulsing xenia and another unknown coral on the back of the rock, green favia and sun polyps for 30$ at the LFS because they could take care of them and they were receding. Anyone know what this is. The coral under the chromis (hes always in the pic somehow)

Pavona or Lithophyllon(sp)? A closer shot would be a big help

I would say a pavona that hasnt started growing up yet or an echinopora species.

I would love a closer shot but my camera keeps telling me to change the batteries when I just bought new energizer ultimate lithium 7$ for 2. I can only take a quick pick w/ out using the zoom (or touching any other buttons). The people at my LFS are pretty much clueless so that's no help.

Since two have been on the same track as a pavona, i would look at some photos of pavonas and see if they have the same characteristics.

I don't think it is a lithophyllon, i don't see any tentacles coming from the rim or any other part of the body. However, it could just not be "open" enough to show them.

The shot isn't close enough to tell. My first thought was Pavona but ...
