Anyone know what this substance is?

    I was doing a water change, and didnt really think to look into my saltwater reservoir, water is oddly murky in the DT, and i checked out the SW-R and i found this :S

    its not grainy or anything, just smooshes into a ball when rubbed, I recently changed from reef crystal to salinity salt, both were mixed into this tub. I have a heater and just a pump in the tub as well.

    It could be when the water is used, or evaporates, some salt sicks to the side of the bucket. Then it builds up into that mush. Or it could be something to do with the new salt.

    Just curious here.. But any chances the salt new or old that you use ever was rock hard and you broken it up to use it..??
