Anyone successful at reversing RTN?

Wow. RTN - (EDIT - not bleaching) - is no joke!
First noticed it on one coral when my old skimmer konked outI completely tossed one, fragged another and found it recently on 2 other corals. Ugh.

It is starting again on the one I fragged. Make it stop!

ANyone know what the magic trick is?

I am not doing anything different and have a better skimmer now.. kinda scratching my head. :-/

You have shroom bleaching? I've never heard of softies getting it.

 

I've heard of many people having SPS RTN without reason. Water, Flow, and Lighting had no major changes.
The only thing I have heard of is frag to save some portion of the coral.
you also may want to frag and give the frag to someone else to later get back.

I have also heard that wild SPS will RTN a lot easier than aquaculture or frags of frag of frags.

Ugh.. well my frag of a frag is looking 50/50. Time will tell. I am thinking of doing a severe tank 'makeover' soon to try to fix a couple problems at once. Should be stressfull! ;D

 

I still Have a salt bucket full of skeletons if you want to really know Stress :-[

Like Jason, the only remedy I've found is to frag the heck out of the coral and hope for the best.

Have to also mention that rtn and coral bleaching are completely different "diseases". RTN is when the coral loses everything....zooxanthellae, flesh, polyps. Bleaching is when a coral expells its zooxanthellae but tissue and polyps remain in tact. Sorry to sound like such a know-it-all

 

Have you tried iodine dips after fragging, to kill of protozoans and bacteria, ets?

I had a major prob with my frogspawn, and I believe that saved it! I used Lugol's and followed the instructions...

No that is a good point, thanks! Thinking about it, I think I have RTN in spots. I do some some recovery here and there, hopefully things will turn around.
