..i have not read about any tuns or squirts that are symbiotic
after i got rid of mine i had a rather large diatom outbreak, so i assume they also consume silicates.

Tunicates have two large openings- one atop while the secind opening just slightly lower.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH CORAL REEFER! If you would have taken the time to have read his entire post, you would know that you just made yourself out to look like an arse cause he did mention the different types that have different requirments.

I have several different kinds of sea squirts and tunicates. They came in on my live rock that I ordered DIRECT from fiji. I have low light and moderate light ones. If you look in my gallery, I have a pic of one of mine. I need to get a pic of the 3" pink one I have under a rock where my return is. I have several under ledges, but I have a lot in full view of the light.

Symbiotic means that they have zooxanthellae and the bright colored ones need moderate to intense lighting to grow and prosper! Others are aposymbiotic meaning they require low light to survive and feed on bacteria and disolved organics.

By my understanding of this k9bolx, he is talking about two diferent types of Tunicates. Those that you have, that dont need strong lighting, and the ones that do. My squirt is directly under the powercompactes, and its been alive for a lil over 4 months.
