I am out of salt and have been using Reef Crystals for the last three years. I was looking to get some more when I ran into Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. I was wondering if anyone has used this yet and what you ideas were on it.

    THANKS,
    MIKE

Well I went and ordered a 200 gal mix of Kent Salt so we will see if that will work better than the Reef Crystals. Everything looks good except my nitrates are always in the 20-40 range.

There is. Cheap Salt is fine for FO systems, but if you are planning on keeping corals, especially things like clams, sps, gorgonians, and other more difficult livestock, the trace elements in the salt mixes and things like extra calcium makes a big difference.

As for not dosing calcium, depends on how often you change water and calcium uptake in your tank. Just keep testing.
