Key Points of Using Ozone to Aquarium
The feed gas must be dry and free from impurities.
Use contact chamber, such as protein skimmer that its materials must be highly resistant or inert to ozone, to transfer ozone gas into water. Never inject ozone directly into the fish tank. The aquarium inhabitants should be protected from exposure to free ozone and /or oxidation products. The recommended method to remove any residual free ozone and any free oxidation products is by vigorous aeration followed by filtration through activated carbon.
The best method to monitor ozone input is by measuring the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) with probes or by a Redox meter/controller . Redox potential values of between 300 and 350 mV are recommended as the desirable level. Do not let the redox value of the aquarium water exceed 400 mV as harmful substances (commonly in the form of hypochloric and hypobromic acids) can be produced, which could damage sensitive organisms.
Ozonized air should be prevented from escaping into the room; it is advisable to install a carbon filter on your protein skimmer or ozone reactor where ozonized air escapes.

I've never used this brand before so I cannot comment on it's quality of it's probe/monitor.

Ozone is awesome! It was more popular back in the day when our protein skimmers weren't even 5% of the quality of today's skimmers. Today's GAC is SUBSTANTIALLY better now too. Even if used incorrectly, skimmers and GAC can't accidentally nuke your tank. On the other hand, Ozone is a very powerful oxidizer and can nuke your tank. If used correctly, you'll have less undesireable organisms and crystal clear water.

Do your research and be careful. When I was working at a LFS a number of years ago, the owner wanted me to use ozone so that our store's water would be as clear as one of our competitor's water. I told him flat out, "Sure, I'll do it. However, I require a LOCKING cabinet that only I have the key too. I need to make sure that the employees don't fiddle around with it and nuke thousands of dollars worth of inventory overnight". BTW.....by the word "employee", I really meant "owner". He had more money than sense and I spent tons of time fixing his screw-ups (which, because he's the owner, are defined as something that one of his employees managed to mess up). LOL He would say, "Well, I would have a key too". I said, "I won't help you do it unless I have the ONLY key", so it never was installed.

So, do I pipe the air tube into my protein skimmer air intake?

Be very careful, do you have children or pets? Also depending on your Skimmer it can eat it. Let me see if I can Dig up some more information for you.

Okay read the below to start....I would understand the below and more. Your tank is not the only valuable thing that could get destroyed. You seem to be taking this.all very lightly. Ozone is dangerous and needs to be understood before even considering. I recently heard a story about a toddler getting into a ozone setup and burning their lungs and eyes. Having to be hospitalized. Imagine that for a minute, destroying your.kids lungs and making them blind.

I have read up on it alot and was preparing to install it on my Aquarium (had all the equipment) . When I was talking with a local Aquarium guy who has been in the industry a long time. He says he use to recommend it until the above incident occurred. I did a complete 180 and decided the risks vs the rewards were not worth it. We just had our first child about 3 months ago, and it really made me think. Just to risky and really what do you get out of it? :screwy:
