Anyone with a larger rectangular tank with side overflows as a walk around?

    Just wondering.

Not as a peninsula, but as a walk around tank.

I'm thinking of doing my 180 this way.
It would have one corner of the long wall with overflow tubes though.

Anyone currently doing something like this? Your thoughts?

Like placing the tank in the center of the room?

get another one and run them back to back. That way you can put non compatible fish in one or the other.

I've thought of that idea for myself, but the big Queen Trigger would go nuts trying to get at the tasty snacks on the other side of the glass.

Not the actual center, but about 2ft from the wall, so you could walk all the way around and see in the back easily also.
I'd scape it as if it were viewed from all sides.

That way, it would still be perpendicular to the floor beams and would be over a wall in my basement supporting under the beams where the tank would go- like 2 ft from the wall.

However, my 180 is tempered bottom, so I'd have to have the overflow pipes near on end where the holes are drilled now- I might then even run them back into the stand, and then thru the floor.

    Anybody?

Not worth it, IMO. Two feet isn't enough room to get a comfortable look at the tank.

+1 I think 3' would be minimum (and even that would feel a bit squished)

You could always do a center overflow that way all sides are viewable. I agree 3' would feel cramped. I wish I could move mine because its in a hallway of sorts.

c'mon now, two feet you could walk around the back easily and view in also.
Mike M.'s center overflow only has about 1 ft on 1 side.

See above. It would just be for the back side.
At 3 ft+, it's taking up to much room in my Family Room, which is at least 18x16 I think.

I could do a center overflow if I got another tank. My 180 is bottom tempered. But o/w, it would be nice!
