How do you get rid of it? Or is it a good thing?

its not really a good thing. at least its not something i want in my tank. you can use different organisms to rid it from your tank. as for a puffer in my tank, i dont think sooo. i value the life of the things i have.
but now i as this...how do you think an emerald crab would get along with a pom-pom [aka boxing crab]. being the only crabs [other then hermits] that i have

They will be fine together. I would try sucking it out during a water change with a siphon hose.
