Anything I can do to protect corals that may spend excessive time in a bag?

That's more for fish, who continue to produce waste while in the bag. When you open the bag and oxygen hits the water, it raises the ammonia due to the fish waste.

I do 30 minute standard acclimation on everything that goes in my tank, regardless of where it comes from. Haven't lost anything that way.

Standard styrofoam cooler is fine for them, depending on what kind of corals you're getting. As said, they go longer in bags & styrofoam boxes when being shipped from online sales. Just don't leave them in a hot car or a very cold car.

We bought corals at NextWave at 9 AM and kept them in a cooler (granted I was carrying it around) for another 6+ hours during the rest of the show, and they were fine when we got home.

    Ok, thank you!

I went saturday! It was awesome seeing everything. Did you see that new Redsea system that was on display? Not the one for raffle but it was a huge one with a giant control box and sump in it. It was so cool! Unfortunately I did not buy anything, though I did see many pieces that I really liked. I'm kind of glad I didn't buy anything though, when I left Irvine spectrum that night it was raining and freezing. I brought along a bag of liverock to drop in with the coral just in case I did buy something and when I took the bag out at home it was freezing cold. The other reason I didnt buy anything was because they just give you the corals in like a little styrofoam cup with a plastic lid. I guess I understand because each booth has limited water. It was awesome seeing all the new tech and stuff though. I took lots of business cards so i will check them out when I get a chance. Did you get anything nice? =]. And yeah the 15 bucks was pretty steep, it was a fun experience though. The touch tank was really cool. I want a horseshoe crab now. lol

I didnt buy much....just a RedSea MAX250!!! hahaha! But really..picked it up today. Check out my build thread for pics and a vid.

I reeeally wanted to buy some stuff man. This is, ill be transfering tanks soon, so it wouldnt be smart. Also, i dont see how with that many tangs in a tank, how ich isnt floating around in each fishs' gills!! It worries me, do i hel off for that reason too. So many stressed tangs, ones bound to got the creepy crawlies.

haha! no way? Guess you couldn't wait until 5PM for the raffle than huh? lol. Link me to the build! Yeah there was that whole tank full of tangs . I think that was the tank with the puffer and the trigger hanging out in it too.

I'm kind of in the same position, I'm transferring soon(school) so I'm going to have to move my tank and everything. It would be nice to go UCI or UCLA since they are pretty close, but there's a possibility that I will move up to the bay area and I'm sure the 8+ hour drive will take its toll on the live stock. =/

That awesome! Yeah I kept thinking what I would do if I DID win the raffle for the Redsea 250. I wouldn't have been able to set it up since I'm moving soon and it woulda been such a waste to sell it. lol. My bro goes to UCLA so I'm hoping to go there. I don't plan to dorm though, I live with my gf and since my gf is graduating this fall we'll be moving into a new place. I'll be following the build ;D;D

Yeah I bet! So jealous! I want that new S-series(I think) that they had on display there. The big white one. Yeah, my gf is actually whatever about the fish stuff. I actually got her a tank hoping she would get into. But it just ended up being me that maintains that one too. hahah. Thanks man!
