so i was surfng craigslist for my area and found a posting for 250 lbs of LR for $60 so i was like what the hell and clicked into it and the poster said that it was from a tank treated with copper and is saturated in it....is there any way to pull ALL the copper out of the rock even if it would take a very long time?

You could recure the rock in low pH water with CO2. Cheapest way to remove it. Then place a snail to test if the copper is gone.

Pretty much. The snail will answer that question for you. If you have a pad that absorbs copper will make it work faster. You know to remove the pad when it changes color. When it stops changing colors then copper is gone.

CupraSorb will remove copper; soak your rocks in a tub of SW treated with it. Change 100% of water weekly and retreat until copper is gone.

A copper test kit will spare a snail's life. FWIW, you can get a false reading by using a snail unless the container has plenty of algae, as some species will starve fairly quickly.

guy just got back to me, i asked him how long he has been running copper and how saturated it is...."Rock has been saturated for over 1 year with a 3.0 level. Using Copper safe" do you think its still possible to save this rock?

plus copper can kill inverts at levels lower than what our test kits can read
