I'm a first year college student @ BGSU (northwest OH) and plan to live off campus this fall. I've already filed a housing appeal form, for those wondering about the 2-year mandatory housing for some campuses. I'll most likely have a full time job over the summer and am also looking for a new part-time job for next semester.

I'm trying to budget to find out aprox. how much I will need to spend each month on bills. So am I forgetting anything? I don't watch TV, or have a phone bill. (I have a contract with my dad)

Rent - $200-350 (per person, depending on whether I have a roommate)
    Sewer - ?
    Water - ?
    Electric -$90
    Gas - ?
    Internet - $50
    Groceries - $110

Man...wish Apt's were that cheap when I was your age. Bill costs will vary with location (obviously). Call the local providers to find the rates, and the minimum per month.

Groceries - $60-70...ahhh, the days of Ramen noodles.

And ew, Ramen. I like to cook from scratch when I'm athome and a'm trying to eat really healthy (basically fruits, veggies and protein) so maybe I should bump this up...I've been eating on campus for 6 months and forget the price of things..

Wow, that rent is cheap. Around here, which I consider cheap rent, you're looking at $700-1,200 for any decent place. Split that in half with a roommate

I don't really have a monthly tank budget. I don't buy things for it often, but when I do it's usually just squeezed out of the leftover money.

Around hear my water/sewer is like 40-50 bucks every other month. The apartment I lived before I bought my house paid for it.

Gas in the summer was around 30 bucks a month, and winter its up to 80 a month.

Thanks. Those sound about right for around here. Of course, some costs will vary by the season and some of these bills are also included within the rent.
