I have an extra APC 1500 UPS that I was thinking of putting under my tank and running the RKL 1 with heaters, Metal Halide Lights and powerhead and my main Iwaki 100 pump on.

Does anyone see a problem with doing this? Can the UPS handle all of that load on it or should I only select a few things to put on it. I am not really concerned with runtime but the load of the lights and pumps on it at the same time during regular power.

I dont really lose power that much but want to be covered just in case I do. When that day happens I would most likely just keep the powerheads, some lights and heaters on...depending how long were out of power for!

    Thanks!

I would only run powerheads and the heater with it. It'll last much longer in case of a real power outage. It looks like a sine wave instead of a modified/square wave so it should be safe for your powerheads.

I would think it can handle a bunch of things...I used to have a Dell PowerEdge Server on it.

It would be able to handle all that, but in case of a power outage you only want the heater and one or two pumps running off of it.

That's what I was hoping...I basically want to plug everything into it now and have it protect everything in case of surges and the quick power off/power on scenario that happens every once in a while.

Then if I lose power for a while I would just unplug a few things....leaving heaters, and powerheads to get me through the storm!!!
