How many tanks can the APEX control the water level on?

The breakout box will suport 6 switchs...It takes me 3 to control my ATO...one for the bottom level (need to add water), one for the top (the kill switch...ie...dont fill past here) and then one in my ATO resevoir as a bottom switch (stop pump...there is no water left). So I could definately add one more with the same set up...or if you dont want/need the kill switch feature...you could do 5 tanks...plus the ATO resevoir....or 6 tanks with no switch in the resevoir. The thing I dont know is if you can have more than one Breakout Box and get even more switches. I will say I am FAR from a technical person...and these things are really easy to set up and program.

As a side note...I think to control more then one pump you will need to do some more fancy programming - using multiple outlets, etc. Probably not a big deal for many...but see my previous comment about not being technical....ALSO...the customer service at APEX is awesome. I have asked them many questions, and they always respond quickly via e-mail.

Autotopoff.com and get a solenoid with it that's normal off. T off your Rodi lines to each top off. It's what I use.

The problem with this is that if the solenoid ever failed to seal on closing, you would dilute your tank(s) and obviously make a big mess.

I personally have my RO/DI lines run to small containers with float valves. From there I use floats with either my Reef Angels or DIY system from Autotopoff.com to activate Aqualifter pumps.

It's more reliable than a float by far.

The base unit has 6 digital inputs, so that could potentially do 3 tanks if each had a primary and a fail-safe switch.

You can get more with an I/O expansion, but you'd need a PM1 (or PM2) for that. A PM1 would allow an additional pH probe, so the intent is you'd need a PM1 for each system you wished to expand the base unit's usage to.
