Apex lite with out a tank

OK here it is, tomorrow I am getting my apex lite controller. I do not even have my tank yet. Are there any issues with getting it set up before it is all setup in the stand. I hope to be able to program my outlets and timers all before i plug anything into the EB8. Does anyone know if there are any issues with doing this? Also how and where do I start a log on 3reef of the progression of my tank?

Should be just fine. That is a great way to ensure that everything is working perfectly, and you have it programmed just the way you want before any lives are at stake.

 

I dont see a problem with getting everything programmed up first...then once you get everything plug it all in and test your programming skills.

 

The more that I think about it, and the more i hear that you can program it all first, the happier I am in the decision to get the Apex as one of my first buys. thanks for your input.

I'm looking at the apex system as well... I read something about Neptune Systems working on a Vortech control module, that would seal the deal I think.
