Which is the better of the 2? I have a Reefkeeper now and hate it. I want more control remotely if need be and options which this just doesnt have.

How are you with basic programming? I have two Reef Angels (one for my 125 and one for my 28) and love them. I have no experience with Apex though.

I have an apex, and use the iphone app to control my tank remotely. I travel 3-4 days a week for work, so I really get a lot of use out of it. I am very happy with it, and I would buy it again.

I do software engineering for living, so Reef Angel was instantly more appealing to me.

Then I spent several days reading various Neptune and Reef Angel forums. What I saw (and maybe things changed, since I did my research about a year ago), is that while Reef Angel is infinitely more powerful in terms what you can make it do, Apex hardware seems to be a little more reliable.

I went with Apex for the piece of mind, but I def gave up some control.

I've already ran into situations that Apex just can't do. Apex can't do any kind of math. So for example you could not write any code that compares temp of one sensor to another and does something if difference is too high.

But, it's been rock solid. So I think overall I am happy with my decision.

Apex is what I use and wouldn't use anything else.

Im ok with programming. I was more less looking like one of the above post to quality of the part. I know angel is a little less $ but was seeing where sometimes it didnt hold the program or stopped doing what it was suppose to. I travel and I need something that will keep a eye on salinty say or ph and let me know if something is wrong and turn off the dosing pumps or ect. I just need rock solid. I have this with the reefkeeper but I need more control and options that it doesnt have if you know what I mean.
