Ok I think the probes will be my final descision in what controller I will be purchasing very shortly in the near future and of course from one of our great sponsors on this site.

Between Apex and Reefkeeper which probes last the longest and which ones can you just recalibrate and reuse.

I hear that Reefkeeper probes are done after about a year (that can get really expensive)

I also recieved good news from Customer Support from Neptune Systems rep. that the PM2 and the conductivity probe can be used to measure conductivity or salinity, which I would be using as a salinity probe. Also said that the probes all just need to be recalibrated after a few years or so. Definetly leaning toward the Apex as I have heard with the reefkeeper probes they toss them and order new ones about every year.

Thought I would get some reliable info from all the great people here on 3reef....

    thanks

Well, just as a point of interest, salinity probes always double as conductivity probes; they measure salinity via the conductivity of the water. The real difference would be the units the controller can display; as in, mS (conductivity), ppt or SG (salinity).

I can't speak for others but my DA pH probe has been working flawlessly for over a year now. I recalibrate it every 3-4 months and has been spot on. FWIW
