just a note for those who may experience this same issue ...

one of my fish last night got a little to happy at feeding time and splashed water all over the place. it hit one of the water sensors that turned the pumps off. i than could not get the pumps to turn back on. it was late and i didn't want to deal with it. so deleted the command in my apex and i left it for today to figure out.

Anyway, if your sensors gets wet with salt water and doesn't work. dip it in warm water to get the salt off. the residue from the salt is still making contact and is what causes the sensor to seem like its failing. but actually its still working even though you dried the saltwater off. the salt is still left to create the contact. and has to be removed to get the sensor to work again.

so if you set it up with the feed d and your feed d will not turn the pumps back on, salt residue on your sensor is most likely is your problem

    Excellent post.
..as my Father would say "Better to have it and not need it...then to need it and not have it" : )

    Pink,

NIce job on your anti overflow system. I looked into the price of the apex and attachments, too much for me right now.

    Again, nice work

thanks, the good thing about the apex is you can keep adding onto it. there are so many fail safes that you can do with the apex, its really well worth saving for.

Thanks Pink, I know there is many many things the Apex can do.

My DT budget allowed me to get this emergency shut off, berfore my floor gets wet.
PlumbingSupply.com - emergency high water shutoff switch with alarm

It's works flawlessly, and for ~$75 for a single control system, it should!

But it is good insurance so that ~30g of DT water is not overflowed if my DIY HOB/intank overflow system ever failed.

An Apex is on my wish list
