API calcium test

As many of you know who use the API cal test, you run out of #2 while you still have 3/4 of #1 left. This is a total waste and I have contacted the company and they were, shall I say, a little snide about it. I don't get it, you would think they would want to cut waste but I guess we all just keep buying so there you go. Anyway, now that I vented a little, has anyone found someplace that sells just the #2 bottle?

We've all got the same problem. K+ for taking the initiative to contact the company. Bummer they were rude.

Nope.

Problem is everybody doesn't keep the same Calcium level, so there really isn't anyway for them to have matching quantities of each solution. They would need to sell Calcium kits that were tailored to your normal level. As in:

Calcium kit for 400ppm.
Calcium kit for 420ppm.
Calcium kit for 440ppm.
Calcium kit for 460ppm.
etc.....

That's a lot of extra packaging and would significantly raise the cost of each kit.

 

Hanna will be coming out with a tester soon....hopefully in the next 6 months.....right after they are done with Nitrate.

Then its Mg and Ca....I cant wait.

Well, kind of...I suggested to them that at least double the size of bottle #2, that would go a long way to resolving the issue.

 

I agree, since you need 10 drops of bottle #1 and at least 20 drops of bottle #2, doubling the bottle size would greatly help.

 

Will never happen. Just is what it is.
