api reef master kit. petmountain.com has them cheap. you'll also need a salinity, mag & ph kit.

For salinity, you don't want to use a swing arm one, they're way innaccurate. I had one that read 1.026 on my tank.

Get at least an electronic one, if not a refractometer. I have the Pinpoint salinity monitor, and it read 1.023 on the same water as the swing arm, and I did the checks at the same time.

not really, most "reef or master salt" test kits dont have everything. there's more you can test for then what was mentioned before.. I just use reef masters api kit, api ph, and red sea mag. I dont have nitrite or ammonia because usally once tank is running successfully for a while you wont be testing those parms hardly.. unless theres a problem. mass die off, etc.

you can get these two combo kits and a single mag kit and a salinity device... should get ya started. note: you'll have 2 nitrates tests but I use them alot anyways.

Aquarium Water Quality & Testing: Red Sea Magnesium Test Lab

Saltwater Aquarium Salinity & Specific Gravity Testing: Portable Refractometer

all that for $100 bucks. do a google search for coupon codes. maybe free shipping or something.
