Well I packaged and sent the 2 test kits to API and through UPS Tracking. They were delivered today. I will keep all informed of any progress on the situation.

hahaha -- easy mtips--They have actually been very nice (so far). They said they would send free kits--we will see. I just like to post this kind of stuff to let people know how good (or bad) companies stand behind their product.

im the same way with cus. service when i found out the factory was close i thought it was probably pretty cool a bunch of nice tanks none of the above, just a normal building (pretty boring looking too) I always thought a place that makes aquarium stuff would have a bunch of beautiful tanks i was wrong

Well finally after 1 1/2 mo got an answer from API--I had to call them first and the guy said sorry about the wait, it had been sitting on his desk.---NICE!!! Far longer than the 2 week process they had originally said it would take. He said that when they tested the 2, they showed alot less discrepency (Imagine that!!). They determined that one kit was producing bigger drops than the other. I guess that is possible. Long story short. They are sending 2 new kits. Never offered to re-imburse shipping or any other percs. Just thought I would update. I will post when the new kits arrive.

Hobbyists cross contaminate their kits on accident too. Not just with API test kits, with many brands.

The lid for Bottle A goes back on bottle A.....never Bottle B (and vice-versa). There's not a lot of reagent that stays stuck in the lid but there is enough to taint results and it gets worse with time.

I believe that is true IW but I am very careful not to cross or to mix lids. I dont think that was the case here. Not creating a bashing on API I still like the products and just bought another Nitrate kit yesterday. Just like Fox News, Reporting what happened-You decide.
