Have you had better luck with filefish or copperbands when it comes to destroying apista colonies. I have tried everything besides takeing the rocks out and boiling them since that is not an option. I want to try to go the live method. Just wanted some personal experience.

I would advise against getting either fish for controlling aptasia.
The problem with both fish is they do not have good survival rates once the aptasia under control

Then itll go back to the LFS, as of right now they will love a LONG time with the supply we have for them. They are hidden in nook and crannies, worst come to worst we try to kill a few with apista x or joes juice and well have 20 more in 2 days.

yes you will have 20 more if you use aptasia x .... but not if you use joes juice.... joes juice once you hit that aptasia with it, that one is gone for good. and will not come back in 3's as happens with aptasia -x

i have used them both this is personal experience. not something i just read.

Joe's Juice didn't work on the big one I had in my tank. I asked my LFS, and he made up a concoction of kalkwasser and vinegar and a few other things and that seemed to do the trick. Maybe ask your LFS if they have any remedies?

Zapper is the way to go if you can afford it, one of our club members has one and he let me use it, I no longer have any aptasia.

I have tried joes juice, apista x, homemade kak paste, all of them appear again shortly after with even more. Problem being they are ALL OVER, I can get them all with the juice, will the zapper get the little ones and what happens when they crawl back into the hole can you still zap them?

I agree 100% this has been my experience as well.
As to your poll, I would not by either. They are both unlikely to survive. I would stick with perpermint shrimp, Joes juice and maybe some berghia nudibranch.
