    its a little hard to see clearly but try googling vermetid snail and see if any of the images match your mystery creature. Does the "stalk" sometimes spit out big strings of stuff?

    If so, it could very likely be a vermetid.

    I am just taking a guess. By the way that is something that you will get used to with a reef tank - seems there is almost always something appearing out of nowhere on a daily basis - or even after months of having had the tank up and running.

    picture is too small to be certain. Peanut worm maybe?
