I purchased a bunch of golden Apple snails from my local pet store, they look very very nice in my 240gal tank and very expensive, $2.50 plus tax each. I spent about $100 to but 50 of them. I did read about them and found out that they clean tanks and eat rotten food which is perfect..... that is what I was buying them for. But I found out that they are hunters.... they come out at night and started snaring and eating all my feeder fishes. Anyone else have the same problem??

I keep these in my tank with a frog. The frog eventually eats them. But they do not eat the fish in there (the frog does, the snails don't).

I do not believe they are effective hunters and wonder if an apple snail even can snare a fish...

yes they do... let me see if I can catch one one video. I had some in my breeding tank as well and they killed my pregnant feeder.... which took me weeks for them to breed..
