I rescently obtained a couple of corals from a LFS (Colt and Zenia) and the next day after they were acclimated I noticed that I have a HUGE Apstasia on the rock that has the Zenia on it. I have 1 Peppermint shrimp in the tank but I think this thing is too big for him to eat. What other ways of killing Apstasia are there.

Never would have believed it if I didn't see it myself but Lemon Juice works wonders. Go buy a meat injecting syringe, cut the end off of it (this is important cause the end makes the juice come out the sides). Put about a tablespoon in the syringe and put it right up next to the offending things mouth and squirt! it might take two applications, but believe me it will die and not come back! And the best part is it wont hurt anything in your tank..

But you might want to give your Pepermint a chance.. I had one about 3 inhes tall, put a pepermint in the tank and it was ALL gone within 3 days.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, Last I heard is nudibranch's also eat some corals so you wouldn't want to put that in your tank.

vinager also works..or go to ur lfs and have them make u some kalk mix..also pickling lime works too...i wouldnt reccoment a nudi for one aptasia..i wouldnt reccomend one for many either..once the aptasia is gone..the nudi would die..IMO since it's one..try something simple..joes juice works well also..

Thanks for all of the input. I think I will go out this weekend and try to find a few Peppermint shrimp and start that way. Once again thanks.
