NEVER AGAIN!!! I bet I've killed 40 of 'em on this quality piece of live rock that I paid too much for!!! I took it out of the tank one day, turned it upside down in another tank (empty) and put Aiptasia-X in every hole. Then I filled the 10G with water from my tank and let it sit with just a powerhead and a light for a couple of days. Every time I saw one I zapped in immediately. Took me almost a week to get rid of them all, at least I thought I got rid of them all...I had left the rock with my xenia on it (sat on top of the infested rock) in the main tank and just last week I found one living on the rock with the xenia. It was only about 1 CM long and I had to zap it! I think I may have won the battle.

Next tank, not one freaking piece of live rock is going into it! Base rock is cheaper (although it still comes with critters, last base rock I bought had roly polies in it) and no pests or hair algae (bryopsis).

    NEVER AGAIN!!!

You guy's can "use" Kalkwasser to rid your self of the troublesome aptasia by simply taking an old jar/cup and mixing raw Kalk with Ro water making it a soupy consistancey.
Use a pipette or a syringe if you can (best) you can center the needle directly over the mouth and put in right in there with no probs.

Trick is to get on the job with them and then if a tank is covered with'em, it's best to kill off a few at a time.
You don't want a huge cloud of Kalk floating about, because if raw Kalk lands on corals it will "burn" them just the same.

So if you see "1" and allow it to stay, soon there will be another KILL IT NOW.

Peppermint shrimp work extremely well against aiptasia, at least when the aiptasia is small. I can attest to this fact.
