    Hey guys,
my 40 gallon is about 6 months old, and recently my liverock has all sorts of critters (mainly bristle stars , featherdusters, small white starfish) popping up. I've also noticed a few aptasia polyps (3 or 4). Should i be very concerned about nipping this in the bud early?

I don't have experience with them but I would say yes- I've heard they can take over a tank fairly quickly. Boiling water works well

    Don't Touch Them!

Don't touch them yourself. Except for taser wand and peppermint shrimp the will explode little gametes into the water column and expand exponetially on steroids. Get yourself one peppermint shrimp to see if it survives your nitrates. After one week get yourself five more. Give them about a month acclimate and then they will rip the little centers out of your apitasia in a way they will never come back!

Would you come over and tell my peppermints that? I don't think they believe me that they can eat them and need a little more encouragement from somebody else.

sorry havent been on here in a few days...my nitrates are zero so that wouldnt be a problem. And boiling is definately out of the question for a few different reasons, mainly because i dont want to kill the rock and because removing the large pieces would be nearly impossible at this point. I'll keep a close eye on it if they start multiplieing ill try the pepp squad approach. Just curious how is joes juice applied?
