    what are your thoughts on this skimmer with the gen x pump?I just bought one lastnight for $375.00.the skimmer is brand new and the pump is still in the box in mint condition.I hope this was a good buy...

    Ive got another question...the pump is gravity fed,does this mean I have to have flow to the pump?will it not draw water from the sump? can anyone please explain to me how to hook this beast up?thanking in advance

    It can take a suction off the sump. What size tank are you putting this on?

    Im going to use it on my 120gal,will this be too big?Another question,what is the valve for?there is the intake and a RO type fitting for media and whatnot.Is there a maual that I could look at online?

    Go to AquaC, they have all their manuals online. The valve is for air adjustment. I think that is going to be too big for your system. Not that it won't "work", it's jst that performance is going to be inconsistent. Organics will be stripped out, then you will not get any skimate till enough build up to get skimmed out.

    It is a really good deal, but that is a lot of power wasted. Perhaps you could put it on a timer,but when it is off, your water isn't gettin oxygenated. So you could probably turn it off over night.

    Give AquaC a call. That have been very helpfull to me when I had questions. See what they think.

    heres another question...my return pump pushes 2400gal an hour.couldnt I just tee it off to feed the skimmer instead of running the genx?And then I wouldnt have to run any pumps externally.and it doesnt draw as much power
