I have the EV180 skimmer with a Mag7 used to power it. For the past couple days, I have had a problem, as I have had no skimmate, and the water going into my skimmer, was not as strong.
I took my pump apart thinking that it may be the rubber gasket, or the impeller/magnet. Originally the water was flowing out from where the gasket is situated causing a decrease in water pressure. I then figured that it was the pump, so I took off the flexible hosing connecting the pump to the skimmer and turned on the pump. The pump works perfectly!!!
So that isn't the problem leading me to panic thinking that I have a serious problem with my skimmer unit and may have to buy a new one-like I have an extra $300.00. The water wasn't strong enough to cause the downdraft/water injection process. I tried adjusting the air adjustment nozzle and cleaned it...not the problem. So I took out my directions and it said to periodically clean out the spray injecter and air valve. I have never done that before, MISHAP on my part!!! So, I took both parts off the skimmer unit and cleaned them. To my surprise, my spray injector was junked up, causing all the problems.
Long story short...everything is well!!! Nothing broken...
Lesson here is that those of you that have an Aqua C EV model, make sure that you clean all the integral parts of the skimmer, to ensure the unit works properly and effectively.8)

Went thru exact same scenerio with mine a few months back...cleaning out that air port made all the difference in the world.

Even on my remora's I clean the injector ports 3-4 times a year. Any one have an old EV120 they want to sell?
