Everyone be warned, tried to return aqua c remora protein skimmer to both marineandreef.com and aqua c itself. Was running it for 2 month, totally unsatisfied with its skimming, both companies giving me the run around; and failing to offer return or replace.

All skimmer does is produce vast amounts of what some would call "wet skim" I call it water. Customer support states there must be an additive in my water that is changing surface tension and failing to make skim. I have no additives and it will draw 5-10 gallons of water out of tank in just hours. Have changed 30% of water volume every 7 days with 0 improvement. My sea clone worked 100x better.

is the unit failing to produce skimmate?
do you have a particular issue with the skimmer in terms of its performance?
is the unit defective in any way?
is the unit OK, but you want something that you percieve may be better instead?

because if its either of the 1st 3, maybe we can help you troubleshoot some issues

if its the 4th one, in that you purchased something that you later regretted, but the unit does work as it should then the vendor and the manufacturer would naturally be reluctant to take a used skimmer of you for a refund

There could be other factors at play here. First, are you able to return it b/c you aren't "satisfied" with its skimming? Did you read any warranty that may have come with it? Stating, it doesn't skim well is very subjective and it could be operating just fine, which would make you out of luck. It could also be your setup. You may have a light bioload or have something in the water that prevents bubbles from forming, such as oils. As a company, it would be very bad business to accept returns for every skimmer based upon a subjective opinion.

Why don't you describe your problem more and we may be able to help you.

    I agree with that post.

There are alot more factors that come in when it ccomes to skimmer...Bioload,how dirty the water is,how well you tuned it, wet skimming, dry skimming...Just depends on how you did it..Dont just blame the company for it..And as i said..I know ALOT of people who have Aqua C remoras for their nanos and love it...I am sure their are some people on here who have it also.

I think you can't return it to manufacturer, it's gotta be retailer you bought it from. It's like taking your new car to the HQ building, instead of dealership to do the warranty work.
