I've just recently purchased an aquaC remora pro from ebay. I think I got a pretty good deal on it. I paid 150.00. They say they only used it for a few months then went to an in-sump skimmer. Well I just hooked it up and everything seems to be working fine. It came with a pre-skimmer but I'm not using it. I realized I would rather have had an in-sump skimmer. I worked it in to my pro-clear aquatic 75gal wet-dry. I know it supposed to hang on back but I didn't want another eye sore. Is there any reason I should not be using it this way? Also, the foam being created is white foam. Should it be an off color? (This is my first experience with a skimmer). Also, i read an online instruction manual from aqua C. It mentioned something about adjusting the cup height with the black O-ring. I don't see any O-ring but there is a thumb screw to adjust the height.

Sounds like you got the 1st generation model (no o-ring, and no cleaner screw in the intake) but that's the only difference. The sad thing is you could have got a new one through our sponsor captive reefs for the same price, they are having a !0% off sale on Remoras bought through this site.  :-/  oh well.  :p

Anyway, should be fine the way you set it up.

White bubbles are what it's supposed to be so you are fine there.

    Thanks for joining 3reef!  :)

Hey, thanks Matt. I guess I should have found 3reef before. Oh well, I'll know better next time. Just one other thing. since I don't have the injector access screw how do I clean the injector if needed?

You know I've had mine setup for 2 years and never have!

I imagine some kind of plastic bristle brush would work.. shoot AquaC an email and let me know what they say.

I sent them a email and am waiting for a reply. Also if anyone has this type skimmer I have a general question for you. As far as the interior compartments are concerned there seems to be a small gap in between the "ramps" and the outside walls of the unit. In other words they are not perfectly tight with one another. If I look straight in from the front where the return spout is I can see a little bit of water coming from the left side compartment where the skimmer cup tube is. Is this the way the unit is made?
