aqua c urchin skimmer

ok i have an in sump aqua c urchin skimmer i have it set up in my sump but i was wondering what i have to do next to set it up for skimming where do i set my collection cup and so forth any info on this skimmer wil help a lot.. thank you for all your help i know it wont start producing for a couple days but i still need to know how to finish setting it up as i have my pump hooked to it and it is turned on...

I have not used my urchin C in a couple of years (is sitting out in garage)...

But setting it up is pretty straight forward...hang it on, plug it in. The collection cup sits right on top of the skimmer as I recall. I had mine right on tank as I did not have a sump at the time. --- hopefully you got the "drain plug" version for the collection cup. If not there are instructions about how to retrofit. When that thing kicks in, the collection cup is going to fill up fast.

Set the collection cup about midway and raise and lower it depending upon the amount and consistency of the skimmate. For a thicker skimmate raise it up, for a watery consistency lower it. Also, keep the collection cup clean of sludge and it will skim better.
