Aqua Logic Aquarium Chiller

I have found a 1/2 HP Aqua Logic Chiller on craigslist for a steal and I am wondering if anyone has used this particular brand before.

I am planning to use this on my 150G build that will be starting soon.

Aqua Logic is a good brand. Make sure it still works before you buy it though. If it's out of R-134a, you will need to get it professionally recharged.

 

Thanks for the tip. If it does need to be recharged where would i take it for that?

At $300 if it needs to be rechargeed I can swallow that.

 

I guesssing that any HVAC or refrigeration contractor could recharge it for you. Are they using R134a in car AC units now? If so you might even be able to get it recharged at an auto service outfit. Tangster is probably the expert on this one.

 

I wouldn't know how much it would be, but it shouldn't be too much. Even DIY car recharging kits are cheap, like $40 with a meter on it. The problem is if they have easily accessible recharging ports, you may want to call Aqua Logic to ask them about recharging procedures.
