Provided you get the temperature controller as well, it should be a fine heater. I do wonder why you want the 1000 watt version? Is this for another tank or your 90g? That's way too powerful for a tank that size and a malfunction would boil your livestock.

My preference is to buy 2 smaller heaters so that both are responsible for keeping the temps where they need to be. If one of them goes crazy and overheats or fails completely, it's not powerful enough to kill everything in the tank.

Need to be real careful of thermostat.

    Hi ,
I think I have a similar heater 400 watt, and the only complaint I have is that the thermostat dosen't click or lock down, so if you brush it with your hand it may go off, or worse boil you fish, I got so darn flustrated last night, I put a couple large drops of that silicon glue to lock it downright on top of that red button to lock it up. so it wouldn't move if bumped I can peel the glue off if I need to, Couple posters on the forum describe killing their fish with a overheat.
