What size is your tank and how deep? Did the store offer to sell you one of those? Sound like there trying to up sale you. That looks like it may be a good light but there are many other lighting options on the market. Most of your other options have more power output and usually built in fans to keep them cool. Let us know some details about your tank set up and Im sure we can show you a lot of options for lighting.

Right i have checked this out and Aqua Beam 500 is actually LED technology. If you want more advice you should PM Kiarah as she is using these on her reef tank. I believe she is happy with them.

My LFS has a tank set up with aqua beam 500, not very bright but apprently they are still high in PAR so i guess that doesnt matter. Colour looks good and so does the coral. There is an excellent shimmer effect from them (i think its better then MH's).

With your current lighting, i wouldnt try an anemone not at all - with LED im not sure...
But T5 and MH are tried and tested and many people can keep anemones with these lights.

You an easily keep even light demanding anemones under only t5ho light, MH is not necessary at all.

But with only 2 t8 bulbs, I really doubt I would try anemones with your current lighting.

LED tech is getting there, but I am not quite sold on it yet. t5+ mh for me...
