It has a mag 7 pump. Do the bubbles fill the entire chamber or just every once in a while flow high enough to go to the collection cup. my bubbles fill about half the chamber and seem to have big bubbles that pop and it falls, and I would get minimal skimmate.....of course this was when it was "working"..lol

By setting the starting level as described earlier, then cutting in the air, the "level" rises about 1 to 1.5 inches in the neck, above the mixing "box"... From there, I have made small adjustments over several weeks to get the color you see...

Also note, I don't clean my skimmer, as it is most difficult to get out, it drains to a 1 gallon bucket...not the best situation, but that's what it is...the pump however, gets cleaned about monthly...

Ok thanks for the info guys I guess I am trying to have the reaction chamber totally filled with bubbles and it is/was probably functioning fine, as the level of the bubbles were halfway up the first clear chamber.

For the most part, my skimmer does the same as yours. When I dose any kind of liquid food, the "bubbles" come down and it looks like its not working right, but it is. What do you have in your tank? As in livestock. Luna

Also remember when you put your hands in the tank, the oils on your body will cause the skimmer to stop working for a little while. Do you have any elbows connected on your Mag7 into the skimmer or is it direct feed without any bend adapters?

It a direct feed with maybe 6-8 inches of tubing from the pump sitting in the sump right next to the acrylic case of the skimmer. I have been trying to adjust it like you guys have been saying with no luck. I left it over night as it was seeming to have been bubbling higher and higher each time but it is not making any skim mate at all anymore. I really dont know what to do.

Any chance you can run a short video or take some pics and post them?
