Ya no john guest fitting anywhere but after leaving it alone for a couple days at wide open on the gate valve and the air valve it is producing skimate again..YAY!! I cant believe it took a couple of days for it to set itself back to normal.

I'm glad to hear that it's skimming for you... from the video, it sure looks like it is running right...give it some more time, and then you'll be in a position to slowy adjust the consistancy of the skimmate by making adjustments to the air or water.

I have essentially the same problem as mentioned throughout this thread, but I actually DO have the john guest fitting, and I think I'm having the issue I quoted you mentioning about it. How did you plug your JG fitting, just airline and a valve? I'll be trying to adjust the bubbles and water level, and it will just swing all over the place, even making significant amounts of bubbles with the air vent closed.

Also, I have a kalkwasser tank that has JG fittings, and they leak terribly. I was thinking of using metal washers to weigh down the fitting so it seals, but might you have an idea as well on how to get those to seal better?

Where are you getting leaking? I would strongly suggest again using metal weights, they will corrode. JG fittings are usually really tightly sealed and rarely leak when the rigth tubing size is used. I use typical RO sized tubings for mine. I just push the tubing in and it's good to go. If you don't have the EV's JG connected to anything, you will want to plug a tube in and a valve and clsoe the valve off. It won't work properly if it is open.
